2006 - 2021

Dr. Mátyás Benyó graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine (FGMP) of the Medical and Health Sciences Center (MCHSC) of the University of Debrecen in 2006. From 2006 to 2021, he worked at the Urology Clinic of the Clinical Center of the University of Debrecen, and from 2014 as an assistant professor.

2005 - 2008

In 2005, he obtained his ambulance officer III qualification, after which he worked part-time for the National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) for two years. Between 2006 and 2008, he also provided on-call care as a family doctor.

2012

In 2012, he passed the Hungarian and European urology examination – Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). Since then, he has had a private urological practice.

2013

He obtained his PhD in 2013 (title: "Assessment of thrombosis risk and prevention of thromboembolic complications in connection with radical prostatectomy"). In this year, he introduced microsurgical andrology surgeries in Debrecen at the Urology Clinic.

2014

In 2014, he passed the Hungarian andrology examination and in 2018, he passed the European Academy of Andrology: Clinical Andrologist.

He completed his most significant study trips in Salzburg (Austria), Budapest and Zagreb (Croatia).

2020

As of 2020, he has published 51 scientific publications (Impact factor 16.632), authored five textbook chapters, and presented 199 lectures and posters.

What else is worth knowing?

His main areas of research are sexual problems, male infertility, urinary incontinence, and thrombosis prevention.

He is a member of the editorial board of foreign and domestic scientific journals and the board of the Hungarian Andrological Society.

Among his activities as a university lecturer, his most notable are his supervision of 25 state exam papers and coursework, and 28 local and national scientific student group projects for Hungarian and foreign students.

He has an advanced level in English and an intermediate level in German.

He based his professional knowledge on clinical work at the Urology Clinic of the University of Debrecen in Hungary, as well as internships at the Urology Clinic of Semmelweis University in Budapest, the Department of Urology and Andrology of the University Hospital of Salzburg in Austria, and the University of Zagreb in Croatia.
